On Sunday, 14 December 2025, the VH Mabaso Memorial Congregation of the UPCSA gathered at the church hall for a memorable Christmas & Appreciation Service—a meaningful occasion that brought together worship, gratitude, and reflection as the year drew to a close.
A Spirit-Filled Service of Thanksgiving
The service was a powerful celebration of the Christmas message, reminding the congregation of Christ’s love, hope, and call to serve one another. Members, elders, and guests joined in worship, fellowship, and prayer, creating an atmosphere of unity and thanksgiving.
Honouring Service and Commitment
One of the key moments of the day was the Valedictory segment, which reflected on the congregation’s journey throughout the year, acknowledging God’s guidance and the collective efforts of the church community.
A special Christmas for the Elderly programme honoured senior members of the congregation, recognising their lifelong faithfulness, wisdom, and contribution to the church’s spiritual life.
The congregation also bid a heartfelt farewell to the Fellowship of Women (FoW) outgoing Executive Committee, expressing sincere appreciation for their dedication, leadership, and selfless service. Their commitment has left a lasting impact on the ministry and the wider church family.
Leadership and Ministry
The service was ably moderated by the Moderator of the General Assembly, whose leadership added depth and dignity to the proceedings. The message and ministry were delivered by Rev S Zungu, whose words resonated with the themes of gratitude, renewal, and faithful service during the Christmas season.
A Meaningful Conclusion to the Year
The Christmas & Appreciation Service stood as a fitting conclusion to the year—strengthening bonds within the congregation and reaffirming a shared commitment to faith, service, and community. It served as a reminder that the church is built not only on worship but also on appreciation, love, and collective responsibility.
The VH Mabaso Memorial Congregation remains grateful to all who participated, served, and attended, making the event a truly memorable and spiritually uplifting experience.
